Lake Vähä-Multiajärvi empties into the river Soutujoki via the river Multianjoki which is about 4 km long. In the river there are two rapids (Kurenkoski and Riuttakoski) and a couple small rapids. The river is situated in a peaceful environment. The river flows slowly and it is narrow and therefore it is easy to fish there. The rapid Kurenkoski is in the beginning of the river Multianjoki. The rapid is 250 metres long and quite serpentine. The rapid begins in the bay Myllylahti in lake Vähä-Multiajärvi. In the beginning the rapid flows quite slow. Between the currents there are little pits and quit water areas in the river. In the last part the rapid flows swiftly and it ends in a fishy pit. After the rapid Kurenkoski the river flows slow and winding. After 1,8 km begins the rapid Riuttakoski which is 300 metres long. The lowest part of the rapid Riuttakoski is in its natural state. During the last 1,5 km there are two little rapids in the river Multianjoki. The lake trout population is taken care of with size limit lake trout plantations during the summer. In both rapids there are natural lake trout and grayling populations. With the same fishing permit it is possible to fish on the other rapids of the fishing corporation of Multia (Pietilänkoski, Sarapuro, and Mykänjoki).
