The rapid Kellankoski, which is located midway along the waterway of Kolima-Keitele between lakes Kärnänjärvi and Kellanjärvi, is the first rapid in the area where you can fish with a permit. The rapid foams in the middle of wilderness: The closest road is 200 metres away and there are no bridges to ruin the view. In 1998, the rapid was dedicated to fly fishermen only for the first time. The rapid is particularly suitable for this purpose, because it is easy to wade and fish with UL tackles there. It is exciting to fish on this waterway, because there are big grayling, of which the biggest ones weight over 1 kg. There are lean-ons for fishermen at both ends of the rapid. The rapid Kellankoski has also been restored: there are hiding places for fish throughout the rapid. Fry and fish over the minimum size limit have been planted in Kellankoski, as well as in other rapid on the same waterway.
