Brown trout - Trolling on lakes in Finland
Brown trout is the most wanted catch for trollers.
Brown trout use vendace and smelt as nutriment and therefore they follow vendace and smelt swarms. Brown trout are often in deep water in summer and therefore you should use a downrigger when trolling. Brown trout are near the surface, often even near shores, in autumn and spring.
The best time for trolling is in the darkness of the morning and evening, but it is also possible to catch Brown trout at night or during the day. Brown trout fishing season begins early in spring and ends when lakes freeze. The best season is late in autumn.
Brown trout use vendace and smelt as nutriment and you should take that into consideration when you choose your lure.
Welcome to fish on the clean waters of Finland!
