Pike - Casting on lakes in Finland
You cast every 5-10 metres as near the rushes as possible and scour the whole area carefully from a boat. You can also use weed guarded lures so that it is possible to cast into rushes. When fishing from the shore you should let the lure sink near the bottom before you reel in. You should swim the lure variable and hold pauses when reeling. That imitates an injured fish.
The pike fishing season begins after spawning in spring. Immediately after spawning the pike bites agressively. Big pikes are in deep water in summer when water is warm. There are plenty of small pike weighing under 2 kg in shallow water. In spring big pike come back into shallow water
The best places to catch pike with casting tackles are rushy shores and ranges of rocks. Thin places in rushes and ends of capes are excellent lodges.
The best times to catch pike are early in the morning and in the evening at sunset but it is also possible during day.
Big spoons and wobblers are excellent lures for pike fishing. You should always use a cast when fishing pike.
Welcome to fish on the clean waters of Finland!
