Angling in Finland

The traditional Finnish fishing with a hook and line is a nice way to spend a summer day. You're sure to catch something with this method.

It is possible to fish with a line a and hook on all lakes. It is possible to fish with a hook and line from a shore, a jetty or a boat. Nearly all companies in fishing tourism offer hooks and lines and angleworms. Perch, roach and bream are the most common fish that are angled.

If you use a boat for angling you should anchor your boat near the fishing place. An angleworm is set in the hook and the height of the bobber is adjusted to suit the depth of the water. The bobber signals you if a fish bites. You can also make the bait more attractive by pulling the line sometimes if the waves are not strong enough to do this.
