Lake Keurusselkä is the most important lake of the fishing ground. The lake is situated in the west of Central Finland. The lake is about 30 km long and 6 km wide. Keuruu is situated on the north end of the lake and Mänttä on the south end. The scenery is beautiful on the lake Keurusselkä. On lake Keurusselkä there is a big open lake but otherwise there are a lot of islands, fishy ranges of rocks as well as bays. The water is quite brown in the lake but there are a plenty of fish. There are with spar-buoys marked navigation routes on lake Keurusselkä. From the lake there is available a map for boater which you should buy if you are going to the lake. Around the lake there are excellent harbours and launching places for boats as well as places to take a brake. In lake Keurusselkä there are a plenty of big pike. In the summer the fishermen’s catch by trolling several pike weighing almost 10 kg. There are also a lot of pike perch in the lake. It is also possible to catch a lake trout on lake Keurusselkä. The perch population is quite strong and there are also big perch in the lake. Lake Pihlajavesi is the other lake of the fishing ground. The lake is like lake Keurusselkä but it is situated more in the wilderness. In the lake there are a lot of islands, ranges of rocks, and bays. The water there is brown. In the lake there is an excellent pike perch and pike population. There is only a few lake trout in the lake however there has been caught big lake trout. The most probable place to catch a lake trout is on the end of the lake where the rapids Pihlaiskosket are.
